About

Who is Genaro E. Venalonzo?

Genaro E. Venalonzo is a worship pastor and youth leader at Horeb Community Church in Tucson, Arizona. A native Tucsonan with Latin roots, he blends ministry, musicianship, and analytics: by day he serves as a Business Systems Analyst for the Pima County Attorney’s Office; by night and weekend he guides worship teams, mentors teenagers, and composes music that points listeners toward God.

Genaro’s love of music began early. Trained in classical piano through the Tucson Women’s Symphony Association, he wrote his first song at age 10 and has been creating ever since. Over the last 13 years he has has been playing piano/keyboard, working with vocalists and instrumentalists to craft songs at his local church. He also plays guitar and harmonica.

For more than a decade Genaro has taught children and youth, first as a piano instructor and later as a church counselor and youth leader. His style of teaching combines patience, empathy, and a practical grasp of Scripture. His goal is always the same: help young people discover their worth in Christ and use their gifts to serve others.

Genaro graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Administration of Justice at the University of Arizona and has spent the past five years with the Pima County Attorney’s Office. There he translates business needs into efficient technical solutions.

When he isn’t analyzing data or leading worship, you’ll find Genaro reading theology and leadership books, writing new songs on the piano, or brainstorming energetic lessons for his church’s youth. Everything he does flows from a desire to learn, grow, and teach.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”
